Computers, Photography, and Architecture/Art
These three interest came to me at about the same time around eight grade. I've been into this for almost seven years now and I learn new things about them all the time; especially computers. These interests seem to link together for me in more than one way. Write now I'm concentrating on learning more about taking good pictures etc. Most of what I know about these three subject I taught myself.
Computers:
Computers have been apart of my life since eight grade. At first they seemed really complicated and I felt I would never learn about them. Since then I have learned tons of things about them. Most of what I know about computers came from friends and my own reading instead of more the classroom learning. I did learn about major programs like microsoft office, power point, & excel from my teachers. One of my friend's ( Buddy ) who is a programmer of a dozen languages taught alot obout computers and how to take them apart and repair them hardware wise. My friend Jason has taught me alot about different programs and things of that nature. I got my first computer in 1997 from my grandpa & grandma; it was quite unexpected too. But a wonderful surprise it was. My first was a Compaq Presario; I had it up until may of 2000, when I ran out a room for memory. Then what I have now is a Gateway with a Intel III pentium processor. It works really well and keeps up to speed. And then in this year ( 2001 ) I have learned HTML and how to create a web site. And who knows what next.
Photography
Taking pictures is my most favorite interest. I always run out of film on vacations and have to buy more. I go nuts taking pictures. I love taking pictures of scenery the most. As you can see throughout my site there's a picture on almost every page. Most of the pictures are mine some aren't. I got some of my best photos from the Copper Harbor area and the Yellowstone National Park area. Even though I have never taken a class for it, people tell me that my picture are really good. My camera now is five years old and is my first one has been more then great to me. Kodak Advantax is the best for conventional cameras. Soon or later I am going to get a camera with a zoom lenses and nightime capabilities. I've probably have taken around 300 pictures in my life time so far. If you like any of the pictures on this site for a background, e-mail me and I'll send you what every picture you would like to have.
Architecture & Art
I have interested in architecture now for eight years or so. Up until eight grade I never took a drafting class, but once I got in there I surprised my teacher by how well I did for my first quarter. I liked drafting so well my first year I decided to take it for the rest of high school. I've designed about six houses and one 3-D house. I've participated in the bridge building contest at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. I ended up both time in the top 15%. I've recieved superior drafting awards every year in drafting. Even after school I've designed a few houses. I just like doing it along with landscaping plans. I prefer pencil drafting rather than CAD.
I live art and doing art overall. I've been good at it for along time. I can't think of one year that I wasn't it some sort of art class or program. I especially like drawing animals. I draw just about everything now. I like taking pictures and then drawing it out a bigger scale. I've won a couple of art contests in the many years that I've participated. I really enjoy going to art museums and shows; such places like that. Either it's pencil or color, or pain t I like to do them all.
