The Raccoon & the Skunk

This is a story that takes place a few years back at my uncle and aunts old house near Tulsa Oklahoma. The three main characters are my uncle, the skunk, and "Bernie" the raccoon.
It was about ten o'clock at night in the summer and my uncle was cleaning the garage out and my aunt was busy inside cleaning. My uncle was minding his own business; cleaning the garage, when a skunk walked in the open garage. My uncle turned around as the skunk dashed under the work table. My uncle then reached for his gun, but it was too late the skunk was under the work bench and it was too dark under there to see him. So my uncle decided to sit down on the opposite side and wait for him to come out. Well he waited for about ten minutes and nothing happened. So he thought he would try to scare the skunk out with some noise. He started up the chain saw and that didn't do a thing. My uncle sat back down for a minute to try to figure out what to do. And just then Bernie the raccoon discovers the garage is open so he comes right on in to check things out. He heads over to the cooler and opens it and starts rummaging through it. My uncle not wanting to get up because he might scare the skunk out, starts waving his hands around at the raccoon to try to get him to leave. That doesn't work so he drops a piece of metal on the concrete floor. That scares Bernie and he runs under the work bench with the skunk. About ten seconds later the raccoon bolts out of there and out of the garage with the skunk following him with his tail up. The skunk see's my uncle and the gun so he dashed up the lawnmower. My uncle wasn't about to fire under the mower so he sits down again and waits. He gets sick of waiting so he gets the idea he going to gas the skunk out with car exhaust. He hooks up a pipe from the car and slides it up to the lawnmower. He turns the car on for a few minutes and the skunk still doesn't come out right away. He was just about to give up when the skunk took off for the forest. My uncle was too late getting his gun; the skunk was no where to be seen by the time he got it. And the Bernie the raccoon was up in a tree in the front yard starring down at the whole situation; laughing sort of at my uncle. And the whole time my aunt didn't hear a thing from inside.
